This project deals with core human memories, retrospective and ancestry. The main subjects of the project are my grandma’s place I spent my childhood in and the nature of the village she lives in. The shots I used correspond between each other, depicting a similar view in both locations. In both instances, the symbols and patterns rhyme with each other.

Using tracing paper and film photography, I created a feeling of a nostalgic memory, the tracing paper serving as a metaphor for a person’s perspective and the pictures representing objective reality. My main goal while creating this piece was to record and trace the surrounding world as it was to commemorate it. To deepen the contrast and symbolise two divergent viewpoints of my grandma and I and the distinction between the past and the present, half of all the shots are displayed in black and white.
